Book Description

For Nicky, A Torey Hope Novel Book 1 was voted #3 of the Top 50 Indie Books of 2014 by ReadFree.ly readers/voters.

Elizabeth Decker views herself as shy, totally average, and pretty much insignificant. She’s nothing special, at least not compared to her little sister, Audrey. Elizabeth is content with her plain and lonely future; she’s too insecure to contemplate a relationship thanks to her sister. Audrey is a bombshell and uses this to get what she wants. She’s a girl who will stop at nothing to control anyone and everything around her. She craves power and doesn’t care if she has to hurt Elizabeth to get it.
Nathaniel Morgan has spent his whole life fighting for his twin brother, Nicholas. Somewhere along the way, he lost himself. Now he’s just getting by. He’s devoted to his family, but emotionally detached from the women he burns through like wildfire. He has no plans of getting into something as complicated and committed as a “relationship”.
Nicholas Morgan has placed the new librarian, Miss Elizabeth, on a pedestal and is begging her to meet his twin brother, Nathaniel. Elizabeth and Nathaniel agree to meet, for Nicky. Both are caught off-guard when unexpected sparks fly between them. This was not in their plans. Will Nathaniel and Elizabeth be able to escape a past that still plagues them? Or, will the past, suspicions, and insecurities come between them one too many times?

**This is a contemporary new adult romance. It should only be read by ages 18+ due to adult themes and situations. This is a stand alone book.

This author took a subject that has been in the forefront for the last few years combined it with the powers that love can do when it works it magic. I read the intro she has at the beginning but was already fully aware about the subject and the many aspects of it plus am fully aware of the power words hold they are a two edge sword. The center of this is the characters that experience many aspects of bullying different for each but also glad to see that love is stronger than hate which is actually even though do not know if this is her intention I derived from the reading of this novel. Since my daughter-in-law works with special needs kids and adults plus my daughter's best friend since childhood has twins this also brought it to be a very relatable read. It is also true that as you read this she does have the ability to squeeze out of us the readers many emotions also as we journey along with the story through these characters. I also find it quite fitting for this one which like hitting the nail on the head that you have each characters pov throughout. For Nate, Nicky and Elizabeth each of their side of story very important but very well done melding them together. Of course there is the sister Audrey who is a piece of work unto herself too. Nate was very fortunate that his brother had the loving heart and outlook on life he did have because some can get very upset and react differently than this character does. Also when Elizabeth points out to Nate his form of bullying this author had it so right to present that because it was so true. The most delightful thing through the reading of this though as mentioned earlier is how love is shown through them all with it also being the healer that is needed to enable three of them to go on with themselves with a future free of bullying as it once had. Love is so powerful it can make the impossible become possible which is demonstrated in this novel. The different aspects also written for these characters were refreshing so that it shines a light in the corners bringing all dirt to the front that has to be dealt with but the most enjoyable character was Nicky. He only wants the best for his brother and having helped find the best in his eyes will not let anything deter him from seeing Nate happy with babies which he also wants. You also witness that love between two people can survive when real because it is needed when the ups and downs of life will try and drive them apart with the help of one sick sister driving that wedge but love will be the bigger tool. For a debut novel this one is well done with having the ability to satisfy any readers needs for a novel that will put the squeeze on their emotional meter. Received a arc for a honest review.
